Startups are having a heck of a time attracting talent. Four month old Hipster is pulling out all of the stops.

Hipster, which allows users in the same geographic region to answer each other's questions, raised $1 million from investors like Google Ventures and Mitch Kapor. It is spending a good chunk of that change on recruitment, specifically on signing bonuses.

Founder Doug Ludlow promises any new employee (or in-house referrer) $10,000, a year's worth of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, a bike, big sunglasses, skinny jeans, a bowtie, a mustache grooming service and a pair of boots.

Where's the pony?

“As you know, recruiting is insanely competitive right now, so we wanted to do something that would break through the noise, and get the attention of the people we’re trying to reach,” Ludlow tells The New York Times.

Honestly, we'd prefer all of that in cash.
