Update: He's back! (h/t ReadWriteWeb's Marshall Kirkpatrick)
Previously:
Facebook product director Blake Ross tweeted that he was banned from Google+, ostensibly because of his name.
Google tries to keep fake names off Google+ (not very successfully, judging by the people who add us to their circles), but Blake Ross isn't exactly a name that breathes "fake."
Ross speculates that Google might be banning all Facebookers and says, "I smell fear."
We wouldn't be so brash. We went through a dozen Google+ profiles of people who work at Facebook, from the executive team on down, and none of them seem to have been booted out.
Edit: As ReadWriteWeb's Marshall Kirkpatrick points out here and in the comments to this post, there are at least eight other people named Blake Ross on Google+.
So this looks like just a fluke, which happens to a site which is just getting started and experiencing massive growth.
On February 28, Axel Springer, Business Insider's parent company, joined 31 other media groups and filed a $2.3 billion suit against Google in Dutch court, alleging losses suffered due to the company's advertising practices.
